Refinement of the Dissipated Energy Based Fatigue Model for Airport Flexible Pavements

  • Completion Date: 2015
  • Funding Agency: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
  • Project Goal: Develop an approach to estimate a limiting asphalt strain for airfield pavements based on fatigue concepts. This was accomplished utilizing data collected by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the National Airport Pavement Test Facility (NAPTF). Field data such Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) results and variability in peak strain profile data collected from the NAPTF website were analyzed.
  • Final Report: File will provided for posting online.
