Rowan University Construction and Materials Laboratory (RUCOM)
The Rowan University Construction and Materials Laboratory (RUCOM) is housed within the South Jersey Technology Park (SJTP) (SJTP) at Rowan University. RUCOM is an award-winning, AASHTO-accredited state-of-the-art laboratory equipped with up-to-date equipment and testing devices. These devices allow for advanced characterization of asphalt mixtures, asphalt binders, and soils and aggregates. In addition, RUCOM is equipped with the most up-to-date computational tools that allow researchers at CREATES to model sophisticated pavement problems and find solutions for them. The resources available at RUCOM offer State Highway Agencies (such as the New Jersey Department of Transportation, NJDOT) and the pavement industry in the northeast region of the United States (US) a unique opportunity to conduct state-of-the-art pavement and materials research. Using these resources researchers at CREATES have successfully completed various research projects for different funding agencies including: NJDOT, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT), Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the US Department of Transportation (USDOT).
