Instrumentation Capabilities at RUAPTF

• Instrumentation provides valuable information about the behavior and performance of pavements
• At RUAPTF, we have all the necessary tools and experience needed to instrument full-scale pavement sections
• Complete synchronization between HVS testing and instruments is also possible at RUTAPT through a state-of-the-art Data Acquisition System (DAQ).
• Various sensors can be installed in RUAPT full-scale pavement sections include:
  • Pressure cells in all pavement layers.
  • Asphalt and concrete strain gauges (surface and embedded).
  • Multi-Depth Deflection (MDD) sensors.
  • Horizontal and vertical displacement sensors such as Linear Variable Differential Transducers (LVDTs).
  • Temperature sensors and thermocouples (in both bound and unbound pavement layers).
  • Soil and aggregate moisture sensors.
