NBC10 Philadelphia recently spoke with Dr. Cheng Zhu, CREATES Research Faculty member, about the Interstate 295 wall collapse. Dr. Cheng’s research primarily concerns multi-scale soil and rock behavior under coupled processes across various time scales, with emphasis placed on microstructure characterization, constitutive model formulation, and computational geomechanics, for applications in geological storage and energy geotechnics.
