Abstract:
The American Dream Complex outside New York City is an entertainment and retail center that opened in October 2019. The complex is expected to draw more than 40 million visitors a year once fully operational, which raises mobility and safety questions for road users nearby. This phase evaluated the mobility and safety of the transportation network around the complex. Mobility was assessed on four surrounding corridors using travel time inflation as the performance measure. Safety was assessed with an AI video analytic tool built to measure intersection performance through surrogate safety measures.
