Abstract: The goal of this research study is to evaluate the healing characteristic of nanoparticle-modified asphalt mixtures.

• Assess chemical changes of asphalt binders due to the use of nanoparticles (SARA testing, FTIR testing, etc.)
• Evaluate surface energy properties of nanoparticle modified asphalt binders
• Assess cross-linking impacts of nanoparticle and asphalt binder at different nanoparticle dosage rates
