Use of Warm Mix Asphalt Technology as a Compaction Aid in Cold Regions

• Abstract:  The goal of this project is to evaluate different WMA technologies (focus will be on additives; either chemical or organic) as compaction aids during construction of flexible pavements. Specifically, CREATEs’ team will conduct a laboratory evaluation study to identify the best WMA additives that can facilitate compacting asphalt mixtures at lower than traditional compaction temperatures.
