Demand-Response Transit in Gloucester County: Evaluation of Operation and Development of Recommendations

Abstract: 

Gloucester County has provided demand-response transportation to residents since 1985, and the service now handles roughly 50,000 trips a year. The county wants to get more out of the service, remove duplicated trips, and meet the needs of current and potential riders. This study identified the transportation needs and constraints in the county, assessed whether the existing demand-response system meets ridership demand, and developed short-term and long-term recommendations.
